US: Aussie escapes jet crash inferno

An Australian man says he fled for his life as a fighter ploughed into houses in the US city of San Diego .. killing at least three people in the fiery aftermath.
The pilot of the F-18 Hornet jet ejected safely just before the crash at a marine corps base.
Explosions rocked a neighbourhood of half-million-dollar homes .. sending flames and plumes of smoke skyward.
Expatriate BILL DUSTING .. a 48-year-old postman formerly from Melbourne .. says he was on his postal rounds .. when he heard the loud pop of the pilot ejecting and dived for cover as the plane crashed to earth.
Mr DUSTING says he ran as fast as he could.
